Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about converting PDF to editable PowerPoint with PDFtoDeck.
Is PDFtoDeck really free?
Yes! Guest users can convert 1 file per day (max 10MB, 5 pages) with no registration. Free registered users get 5 conversions per day. For heavier usage, we offer affordable credit packs starting at $1.99.
What makes PDFtoDeck different from other PDF to PPT converters?
Most converters embed your PDF content as flat images inside PowerPoint slides — you can't edit anything. PDFtoDeck converts small icons and vector graphics into native PowerPoint editable freeform shapes. You can change their colors, resize them, and modify them directly in PowerPoint.
What file formats are supported?
We accept PDF files as input and produce .pptx (PowerPoint) files as output. The generated .pptx files are compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint 2016+, Google Slides, LibreOffice Impress, and Keynote.
Are my files stored on your servers?
Files are temporarily stored during processing and automatically deleted after 1 hour. We never permanently store your uploaded files or use them for any purpose beyond the conversion you requested.
How long does conversion take?
Most files are processed in under 10 seconds. Larger files with complex vector graphics may take slightly longer. Paid users get priority processing with higher concurrency.
Will the converted PPTX look exactly like my PDF?
We preserve the layout, text, images, and element positions as closely as possible. However, some complex elements (unusual fonts, advanced gradients, or very intricate vector paths) may differ slightly. We recommend reviewing the output and making minor adjustments if needed.
Can I convert scanned PDFs?
PDFtoDeck works best with digitally created PDFs (exported from design tools, Word, or other software). Scanned PDFs (essentially images) will be placed as images in the slides, since there is no vector data to extract.
What are the page and size limits?
Guest: 5 pages, 10MB. Free registered: 20 pages, 50MB. Paid: 200 pages, 200MB. If your PDF exceeds the limit, consider splitting it before uploading.
Do I need to install any software?
No. PDFtoDeck is entirely web-based. Just open your browser, upload your PDF, and download the result. No plugins, extensions, or desktop software needed.
Can I use the converted files commercially?
Absolutely. You retain full ownership of your converted files. Use them for presentations, client work, or any other purpose.
